A lovely antique Victorian period shell cameo brooch set in low carat gold (8-9 kt. tested), circa 1850. Carved with a Bacchante or Maenad (female followers of Bacchus). Really nice carving on this one. It is approx. 2" by 1 15/8". With original tube hinge and 'C' clasp. In superb condition and dating from the mid 19th century. Guaranteed to be as described.
