A fine Italian Neo Classical gilt mirror, circa 1780. The mirror has carved and gesso decoration with two lovebirds sitting on a pair of crossed quivers of arrows, a classic symbol of love. It is approx. 34" high by 22" wide. There are two supports on the bottom which would have slipped in to slots on the back of a table or chest. The mirror is all original and fairly fragile. The glass is distressed and the gesso is flaking in some areas. The gilding is almost all worn off. It has a great look! It would be perfect above a dressing table or smaller chest of drawers. Guaranteed to be as described.
