A fabulous extra large size English George III Hepplewhite mahogany sideboard, circa 1810. The sideboard features an original finish with great color, flame mahogany and boxwood stringing throughout. There is a hidden door cupboard on the top section with paneled ends and fine inlay. The bottom section has two larger storage cupboards on either side of three drawers, also paneled and inlayed. The two storage cupboards on the bottom have been converted from drawers and the hardware was added later. The piece probably did not have any brass pulls originally. The drawer pulls are hidden underneath as was the fashion in the first quarter of the 19th century. It has six square tapered legs ending in spade feet. The sideboard is 90" wide by 30" deep by 44" high at the back. Overall condition is very good with wear commiserate with age. There is a small repair on the right side towards the leg, please see photo closeup. Guaranteed to be as described.
