An American mahogany Chippendale slant front desk, circa 1780. The desk features gorgeous Santo-Domingan (AKA Cuban) mahogany veneers and solid mahogany. It has a fitted interior with drawers, cubbie holes, and an inlaid locking cabinet. With four graduated drawers on bracket feet. The desk has an old finish that had been refurbished. The hardware is old but not original and the felt is new. It measures 44" wide by 43" high by 22" deep. There was a brass pull in the center of the door which was taken out and filled. Please see photo close-up. A pull would never have been there originally. Other than that, there is normal wear and tear consistent with age. Guaranteed to be as described.
