A fabulous German Biedermeier mahogany fireplace screen with fine petit point panel, circa 1820. The panel is worked in silk and wool and depicts what appears to be a couple stranded on a desert isle. An interesting and unusual subject matter for sure. It has bronze or brass mounts and original finish. Note: the front is a bit sun bleached. The screen is 42" high by 28" wide by 16" deep (the feet). In overall good condition with some water staining to the back and bottom of the needlepoint panel. Please view all pictures carefully. Guaranteed to be as described.
