A gorgeous English Chippendale period tall case clock in mahogany with engraved brass dial, circa 1770. The clock features wonderful Chippendale details, the swan neck pediment has delicate pierced fretwork, the carving on the waist and shaped door, brass escutcheon and shaped panel on the base. All typical Chippendale style details. The hood also has fluted columns with gilt Corinthian capitals. The two back feet are replacements, as is the door lock and key, otherwise, the clock is all original. It is 90" high by 19 /12" wide by 9 1/2" deep (the hood). The base is 18" wide by 9" deep. The Eight day movement has been cleaned and the clock is running great. With brand new winding key. Guaranteed to be as described.
