Antique Flemish oak baroque cabinet server, circa 1640. This fantastic piece of furniture is heavily carved oak with two doors opening to two shelves and two drawers above. The carving is breathtaking and all encompassing. You will find lion heads in the center of a geometric pattern on each door with a deep relief scroll at the center and to each side with face decor and paw foot. The two drawers above show more finite carving of cherub at center with foliate and floral surround. Even the sides of this server are carved. This remarkable piece has aged beautifully over the last 370 years. Related examples can be found at the Rijks Museum, Amsterdam and Rueben's House, Antwerp.
