Joseph Soldano was an early carriage clock producer and was largely responsible for the improvement of fine quality carriage clock production. He was awarded the Legion d'Honneur for his services to French Horology and won the Gold medal at the Paris exhibition in 1834. The well-known firm of Dent's were regular customers of Soldano's during the 1860's.
