French directoire style empire clock signed Gaulin, A Paris, circa 1825. This antique gilt bronze and Belgian marble directoire style empire clock has a convex porcelain dial with arabic numerals and boasts a rare 15 day bell strike movement signed Gaulin, A Paris. The beautiful structure of this clock uses four gilt columns spanning between the marble base on gilt bun feet and the architectural top. Above the convex dial are two griffins holding a swag and below you will find garlands on either side of two goddesses. The gridiron pendulum finishes in a starburst motif with a face in the center.
