A beautifully crafted belt-buckle in solid pewter, with a lovely plaited edge and hand-hammered wild trailing roses detail. An unmarked piece that is very hard to date - but judging from its size, nature-inspired subject matter, material, simple fittings and quality of craftsmanship, it is probably a true Arts and Crafts piece dating to the early part of the 20C. Beautiful molding, stamping and detailing, with a couple of unfinished sharp edges. In fantastic, authentic condition. I have tried, and failed, to identify a maker - but this is one of the nicest hand-made Arts and Crafts buckles I have seen.
