These two cordials have an elegant shape and color. They are actually made of mostly clear glass, with blue inside the stem. This causes the color to reflect on the base and bowl, giving the impression that all of the glass is light blue. Because of this design, the color changes intensity as the glass is moved around and causes the rim especially to glow with a brilliant royal blue. We have not been able to identify the maker as they are unmarked, but date them to sometime in the 1930s to 50s.
These come from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: Height of each glass is 5 inches. Diameter at the top is 2 3/8 inches, and at the base 2 1/4 inches.
CONDITION: One glass is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The other has an indentation on the bottom of the base that may have happened during manufacture, but which now has a tiny chip next to it. There are no other chips, cracks or scrapes.
