This lovely Decanter, or possibly oil cruet, was made by the Hawkes Company in the very early 1900s. Its pattern is simple but oh so beautiful. The glass is clear; the cuts are deep and sparkle with rainbow colors. The applied handle is double notched. The lid is cut with a 16 point star on top. The base is cut with a 24 point star. The Hawkes mark is acid etched below the handle.
This comes from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: Height without the stopper is 6 inches. With the stopper, height is 7 1/2 inches. Diameter at the base is about 3 1/8 inches.
CONDITION: Condition is excellent. We do not see any chips, cracks or scratches in the glass.
