This American Brilliant Cut Glass pitcher has an unusual floral decoration. It includes feathery foliage and two types of flowers coming from the same plant. We believe they look like dandelions, with some open flowers and a few seed heads. We could be wrong – we have not been able to identify the pattern or the manufacturer as yet. The applied handle has cut outs all the way up the outside. The top rim is cut into large scallops. It is a lovely sparkling piece of cut glass – we really love the floral pattern which is quite different from any we’ve seen.
This comes from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: Height is about 6 3/4 inches at the highest part (on either side of the spout). Diameter at the base is 3 inches.
CONDITION: Overall this pitcher is in very nice condition. We do see a few very small chips here and there (2mm or less). There are two very low on the side, close to the base. There is one on the outside edge of the top rim and a few others on high points here and there. We see no major chips and no cracks or scratches in the glass.
Overall this is a lovely piece of early American cut glass that displays very well.
