This is a beautiful cordial glass. The bowl is clear glass with a green overlay that’s been cut. A band of clear glass at the lower part of the bowl is cut into a small diamond pattern. The stem has been applied and is clear glass. It is cut into six sides with a raised and at the top which is also cut. The base is cut into a 24 point star. The piece is marked with a St. Louis stamp in the base.
Some online research suggests this pattern dates from the 1920s but is most known for a dinner outing in 1938. One site suggests this piece was made in the ‘40s or ’50s. Another site mentioned it took 10 craftsmen and 10 days to make each piece.
This comes from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: Height is 5 1/4 inches. Diameter at the top is just under 2 inches, and at the base is right at 2 inches.
