This elegant glass perfume bottle features a beautifully detailed cut glass body. The long neck is cut into six sides, while the base has an eight pointed star. The hinged lid is sterling silver (marked: Sterling 925 Fine). The top of the lid has three repousse roses, surrounded by leaves. There is an inside glass stopper. There is a ring under the hinge, indicating that this bottle could be worn on a chain. On either side of the Sterling mark, is what we believe is a maker’s mark, but it is difficult to make out and we have not been able to identify it. The glass is not marked.
This comes from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: The perfume bottle is 4” high. The diameter at the base is about 1 1/8”, while diameter at the widest part is about 2”.
CONDITION: There is a spot on the shoulder where there are two small surface chips (2x1mm). There are small and shallow chips on two neck edges (less than 1mm). There are tiny nicks here and there (more felt than seen). The lid is in excellent condition. The hinge is tight and is designed to stop when half open. There are no dents or cracks in the silver. The glass stopper is also in good condition.
This little bottle is very pretty and displays nicely.
