This fun early American Brilliant Cut Glass nappy features lively pinwheels around the side. The bottom has a flowing pattern of deep miter cuts, fine diamonds and hobstars. Fans embellish the points of the pattern in between the pinwheels. The cuts are precise and even; this is really a beautifully cut piece. The applied handle has shallow bull’s eyes cut along the outside. We have not found a mark and have not identified the maker.
This comes from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: Measurement from handle to edge of rim is 7 1/4”. Diameter of the dish at the rim is just under 6”. Height to the rim is about 1 3/8” and to the top of the handle is about 2 3/8”.
CONDITION: There are some shallow flake chips on the edges of the rim and a few tiny nicks here and there. Overall this is in very nice condition and will display well. It’s a beautiful piece of early American glass.
