What a lovely delicate American Brilliant Cut Glass basket this is! Most likely made in the early part of the 1900s, it features a wonderful engraved rose pattern. Foliage and long elegant buds surround the two roses that are placed on each side. The stem is fluted, and a star is cut into the base. The applied handle is notched on both sides. The rim is also cut in long shallow notches. We have not found a mark on this piece, and have not yet identified its maker.
This comes from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: This basket is about 5 1/4” long and 4” wide. Height to the top of the handle is about 6 3/4”. Diameter at the base is 2 1/8”.
CONDITION: Condition is excellent. We do not see any chips, cracks or significant scratches in the glass.
