The Laughing Rabbit is probably one of Rosenthal’s most well loved figurines. First made in the 1930s, the happy rabbit was designed by Max D. H. Fritz. It was made in three sizes and, we believe, in four different decors. This is the smallest size; it features the rarer white décor with pink accents. The open mouth is a bright pink, while the eyes, nose and inner ears are a subdued pink. We believe this piece was made after 1957.
Phil has made it a tradition to give people a small version of the laughing rabbit to cheer them up during difficult times. Maybe you will want to do the same… after keeping one for yourself, of course!
This piece comes from the estate of Phil’s mother. She was mainly a collector of glass, but also had an extensive collection of animal figurines that were purchased over many years.
