Dachshund lovers and Rosenthal lovers alike – as well as anyone who can’t resist puppies – will love this piece. It was designed by Georg Küspert in 1953. The under-glaze mark indicates that this piece was made in 1960. The face shows that wrinkled, worried look that puppies have before growing into their skin. Oversized paws shows he has quite a bit of growing still to do. What a cutie! The number 1909 and “G KÜSPERT” are impressed on the base.
This piece comes from the estate of Phil’s mother. She was mainly a collector of glass, but also had an extensive collection of animal figurines that were purchased over many years.
