The wasp waist shape of this little chatelaine perfume and the cut design featuring deep cobalt blue cut to clear make this a beautiful piece of Victorian glass. We believe it is Bohemian based on the style of glass and the lid, but similar perfumes were made in France during the late 1800s. This one has a chain and ring which would allow it to be placed on a finger or hooked to a belt. The lid hinges open. It and the collar were gilded; this has darkened over time. The inner glass stopper is missing.
This comes from the estate of Phil’s mom, who was a passionate collector of American Brilliant cut glass and other fine art glass.
SIZE: Measurement from the base to the top of the lid is just over 2 1/2”. Diameter at the widest part is about 3/4".
CONDITION: Under magnification we notice a few very minute flea bits, but otherwise the glass is free of chips, cracks or significant scratches. The metal of the lid, the chain, ring and collar are in very nice condition.
