This fun wood inkwell is made in the shape of a log house. The hinged roof lifts off to reveal the insert (which is a replacement). The front of the inkstand is leaf shaped, and wide enough to hold several pens.

SIZE: The pen rest in front measures 8 3/4 inches wide. The inkwell house measures about 3 3/8 inches wide. Measurement from back of inkwell to front of pen rest is about 5 inches, and height is 3 inches.

CONDITION: The insert is a replacement. This inkwell likely would have had more of a wide bottle type insert originally. There is rubbing along the pointed areas which has lightened the wood. It looks like one pointed bit broke off long ago. Otherwise, the wood is in good shape with no cracks or significant chips. The hinge works well; it is a little bit wobbly, which is typical in these wooden inkwells.
