This sweet and very feminine inkstand was made by the Reinhold Schlegelmilch porcelain company, probably in the 1930s. It features a square inkwell with lift off lid and a molded pen rest in front. It has a beige background glaze with areas of darker brown. Two poppies decorate the pen rest and another is on the lid. A gold pattern on either side of the inkwell finishes the stand nicely. It is marked with the green RS Germany wreath and star.
This inkstand comes from my personal inkwell collection, which I am in the process of downsizing. Look for many more fine inkwells to be added to our shop.
SIZE: 5 5/8” wide, 2” deep and 1 1/8” high.
CONDITION: Condition of this little inkstand is excellent. There are no chips or cracks. There is a spot of missing decal on the lid; otherwise decals and gold trim are in nice condition.
This inkwell will grace any inkwell or RS Prussia collection.
