This covered Moorcroft bowl dates to between 1928 and 1949, based on its marks. Its lid features three clematis flowers in shades of pink and purple on a sage green background. The knob is a very dark blue. The bowl itself has a dark blue rim. Below that the color graduates from the pale sage green, to teal, to dark blue. The inside of the bowl has the same graduated colors as the outside.
SIZE: Diameter at the top rim of the bowl is about 6 1/2 inches. The bowl is 2 1/4 inches high. Height to the top of the lid’s finial is about 3 1/2 inches.
CONDITION: There is the usual glaze crazing, but there are no chips, cracks or significant scratches on the outside. There are a few scratches in the glaze on the inside of the bowl which can only be seen when the light is just right.
