We offer you a wonderful inkwell from the Bohemian glass house Kralik. It features a soft pink color, with slightly gold toned iridescence and lovely draped pattern. The bottom of the well is encased in brass, with two side knobs that keep it in place once it's placed into the base and twisted. The brass base has cut out designs on each corner. The hinged brass lid is leaf shaped.
The brass base has a nice soft patina. We have chosen not to polish it as the new owner may like the softness that age has given it. However, it could be polished to bring it to its original shine.
SIZE: The base is 4 5/8" square. The inkwell is about 3" high.
CONDITION: There are a number of bubbles in the glass; one bubble has burst. This can be seen in the second photo close to the top next to the hinge. There are no cracks, chips or scratches in the glass. The metal is free from dings, cracks and corrosion.
This is a wonderful example of Bohemian art glass – well worth adding to an inkwell collection or Bohemian glass collection.
