Chein made three of the three button cash register banks. This #178 is the hardest to find, because it is the most collectible with its colorful lithography and character presentation. These banks were made in the 1930s.
Size: 4 ¼ inches deep; 4 ¼ inches tall; 3 ¼ inches wide
Condition: This bank does have some issues. There is the beginning of corrosion on the edge to the right of the 25 cent key, and on the right side in the upper right hand corner. There are scratches, edge-wear, and a couple of shallow dents here and there. The color in the pictures makes it more red than it really is. We would say that is has more of a red orange appearance.
Even so, the colors are bright, the keys work, and it displays well. Best of all, it's available right now at a reasonable price.
