There is a wonderful German children's story about animals who worked together to "sing" outside a cottage window for their supper. Their singing scared the robbers who were inside, allowing the animals to move in and live happily ever after. This picture could be an illustration for that story; the donkey, dog and rooster pictured here certainly seem to be singing in harmony!
Nancy Nemec was a New Hampshire artist, who worked in a variety of mediums. She won several awards for wildlife etchings including Medals of Honor from Audubon Artists. She died in 2003.
This is an original signed and numbered intaglio and relief print. The hand written number is 12/350, and the date next to the signature is '85. It is matted and framed; however, the matting has slight discoloration (a faint line on top and on bottom) and would benefit from being re-done at some point. The print itself is in excellent condition.
SIZE: The entire framed picture is 12 3/4" by 8 1/2". The inside measurements of the matting are 8" by 4 1/2".
This is a great example of Nemec's work and with its low print number is sure to be an investment.
