This inkwell, dating to the early part of the 1900s, was definitely meant for the lady of the house. It features an urn shaped inkwell with a scalloped edge dish in front. A double pen rest is on either side of the dish. Hand painted flowers decorate the dish, the inkwell and the lid. Gold trim adds to its charm. This inkwell was missing its insert when we purchased it. We’ve added an insert which does not quite match in color but which fits nicely. There is no mark on the base.
SIZE: The base measures about 5 3/8 by 4 inches. Height to the top of the finial is about 3 1/4 inches.
CONDITION: As stated, the insert is not original. Otherwise this pretty inkwell is in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks. Paint and gold trim are close to 100% intact.
