Here is one of those one last Japanese wind-up toys to be made. It's a wind-up train made of plastic and tin. All of the yellow is made of plastic, while all of the other colors are lithographed on tin. The wheels are plastic but have a ring of rubber like material to give friction.
Wind up Choo-Choo. It moves across the floor, turns around and goes back the way it came. No tracks needed!
Size: 4 inches long; 4 inches tall at the smoke stack; 3 inches wide at the wind-up key
Condition: The toy is mint and may never have been played with. The box is in very good condition with remnants of a price tag on one end. There is some shelf-wear too.
Considering how pricey vintage and antique wind-up toys have become, a really nice collection of the last of the Japanese production wind-up toys could be accumulated for a fraction of the cost of tin wind-ups toys.
We envision the day when even these toys will be hard to find.
