Here is one of those tin penny toys that is just a delight to look at. It comes from the Georg Eingalt factory which opened near Nuremberg, Germany, in 1922. It was listed as number 111 in his first catalog and was called “Butterfly with Moving Wings”. This information comes from Dieter Warnecke’s excellent “Technofix, Gebruder Einfalt History and Products”.
Go ahead and give the butterfly a push and watch its wings go up and down.
Size: 1 inch high; 1 ¾ inches long; 2 inches wide
Condition: Einfalt shipped almost 80% of his toys to the United States, so some of his toys can still be found. This particular example is in excellent condition on the top portion of the body and wings. The gold body is still in great shape with about 75% of its paint still intact. The wings still maintain their colorful lithography.
The underside has the typical bare metal corrosion seen on most penny toys Overall, this is a nice example.
