Everyone should have a space car in their garage—especially one that can levitate a ball! This one was made in China for the French market. The box shows both English and French writing.
According to the box, here is what the toy can do: When the space ship is travelling, the tail lights and the red lamp in the middle will be lit alternately. The air pad hole on the top of the cockpit will push the small ball up 3-5 cm. When the space ship is travelling, the radar frame will turn around and the small ball will be pushed up by the air stream. The space ship will give a clatter sound when travelling. There is also a lever on the bottom of the toy that allows for adjusting the air pressure for the levitation of the ball.
But why read about it, when you can watch it!!!! Click on the Favorite Links button on the left. Click on Youtube: Artful Toys and Antiques, and watch Item 0185.
Size: 13 inches long; 4 ½ inches wide; 5 inches high at the tail.
Condition: Originally this came with two balls. Only one is now present. The box has shelf-wear and tears. It does have a view area so the ship can be seen without removing it from the box. It still has the Styrofoam inserts, although one doesn't seem to fit too well. It's on the end that has the most flap damage, and we think the damage is because the manufacturer didn't do a good job on packaging this toy or an end piece was substituted at some point.
The toy itself is really nice condition. There is some unfinished paint area on the tail. The battery compartment is clean with no sign of corrosion.
This toy is fun to watch especially when the airflow can be adjusted and levitate the ball at different heights.
