SALE 1953 COOKBOOK PILLSBURY'S 4TH GRAND NATL 100 PRIZE WINNING RECIPES! Somehow it hit me funny when I saw the "New" 1953 Cook Book! But that's what makes these old faithful cookbooks so desirable today! They have withstood the test of time. This one was based on Pillsbury's 4th Grand National 100,000 Recipe and Baking Contest. Out of those, there were 100 Prize Winning Recipes put together for this book, which you can see in 1953, cost 25 cents!
The back cover is an advertisement for Pillsbury's Best XXXX Flour. It says all 100 recipes won with Pillsbury's Best...The Grand National Flour...They Require Pillsbury's best in your kitchen.
Inside, you will find 96 pages of these prize winning recipes, including cookies, pies, cakes, main dishes, breads, and other desserts. The front inside tells a bit about the winners, and you'll find pictures of Art Linkletter, Arthur Godfrey and others with the bakers. In the Bake-Off, the 100 contestants consisted of 20 Junior Bakers, 1 man and 79 women.
This is the FIRST EDITION and was adapted for your use by Ann Pillsbury. It was published in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
