I've always loved the old classic HEIDI by Johanna Spyri, and read it to my 2nd and 3rd graders all the years I taught that age group. When we studied the country of Austria as a class, one of the topics of interest was life in the Alps, and although this actually takes place in Switzerland, it is a sister country, and they shared many of the same cultural history.
This is a wonderful 1939 copyright hardback book, and since no other years are mentioned, I wonder if it might be a First Edition. It doesn't state that however, but many times when a revision or updated edition, it has the earlier years mentioned.
This great old book still has the original dust jacket which is in amazingly good condition to have lasted this long as paper, and the graphics are still very clear. There are some tears, but most of it is still present. There is a little wear to the top of the spine of the hardback itself, but all 253 pages of the book are in good shape other than some darkening to the paper from age. The publisher is Books, Inc. of New York.
If you love wonderful old children's books, you may want to add this to your library of favorites. I assume this belonged to a teacher, but this is strictly an assumption drawn from the stamp on the inside cover that says "Property of Mrs. Coltharp."
I am always happy to combine purchases to save you on shipping, so please be sure to let me know if you are interested in other items I have listed. I believe this book is light enough in weight to mail First Class, so shipping shouldn't cost much at all.
