SALE!!! Priced to Move!
When I saw this beauty at the antique mall yesterday, I thought she looked very familiar,(reminding me a bit of the Miss Revlon dolls), but I didn't recognize the markings on her.....On her back there's a capital "A" and on her feet....."VH-3-7." After looking in several different places online, I have concluded that "I think" she is a Deluxe REading Doll from the 50's...I think sometimes these were bought at supermarkets or grocery stores....so were known sometimes as grocery dolls as well. There was Betty, Ann, Rosemary, Cinderella...plus more names I don't even remember. I'm not sure which one of these dolls fits this beautiful bride, but I do believe she's from the same family!
This bride has a long full flowing satin bride gown, with netting/lace and glittery thread trim around the neckline, sleeves and bodice. Her veil is attached with the sweetest daisy like flowers around the headdress in the front. Lie her down and her eyes close. Stand her up, and her blue-grey-to green eyes(I suppose they're kind of hazel) sparkle! She has pearl dangle earrings, and just the right amount of blush on her cheeks, peachy pink lipstick, and makeup to define her eyebrows.
This doll is just beautiful....but she needs some love, as she's just been inside a plastic bag for way too long....She's missing one of her high heels......Hey wait......maybe she IS CINDERELLA!!! Missing one shoe......perhaps her Prince Charming is just around the corner!
I hope someone will want to add this beautiful doll to your collection. Her arms are raised and waiting for you to take her into yours!
