1940's Coro Designer Sterling Silver Huge Calla Lily Brooch Aqua Rhinestones, with Patina

Sale From the 1940s, this is a Huge (4" x 3" )Sterling Silver CORO Designer Sterling Silver Calla Lily Brooch with brilliant Aqua Colored Rhinestones and plenty of Patina. The Retro 1940's Jewelry was said to be all about large and bright novelty jewelry that compared and contrasted with the Fashion designs of the era. The pin back is places where the flower bouquet would be worn sideways; however, you can certainly wear in in any direction you choose as I have shown in my pictures. The very straight lines of the flower stems contrasts with the decorative ribbon design and the very real looking calla lily designs are just stunning. The very large Aqua Emerald Cut Rectangular Stone is 1" x 3/4" and it is very deep as you can see how it sets down into the mounting. The three stones in the Calla Lilies are Oval Cut and they are 1/2" long and beautiful as well. The color of aqua is so rich and deep, it's almost like a turquoise. STERLING is marked on the back side, but you can see that it has lots of patina. I just could not bring myself to polish this piece although you can if you choose. Something about this design and the Patina just went together so well, and many do not want me to polish silver pieces, as they love the patina. This Large and Bright 1940's Sterling Coro Brooch from the Retro Jewelry Era is just splendid in my book and I believe you will love it too. It may be a design by Adolph Katz since it matches the look of so many other pieces, but I can't say for sure because it is not marked for the maker. You will want to add this to your collection of 1940's Jewelry.
