Sale This listing is for a Gorgeous Large Octagonal English Sterling Silver Sugar Shaker, also often called Muffineer, Castor/Caster, most likely from the 1920's-1940's. The tall and magnificent shape sets it apart from some others. This Sugar Shaker has the Birmingham, England marks as well as B.G in an oval to indicate Bert Gordon as the maker. It is marked twice on the bottom part and the lid is marked with the lion passant, the X and O O. This beautiful piece of holloware stands nearly 7 3/4" tall and the finial I believe is Acanthus leaves. There is a bit of roughness on one turn of the base and one teeny bump that you can see in the picture of the two pieces separated. The piece is well marked on one of the sides as well as on the bottom of the shaker. This muffineer is from a Western KY estate and is a consignment piece. Sugar Shakers are some of my favorite pieces and I do believe you will love adding this fine one to your collection of British Sterling Silver Holloware.
