Doll or Child Size Shaker or Amish Hand Stitched Bonnet Black and Tan
SALE I love little Primitive child bonnets, especially those made by the Shaker or Amish Communities, and this hand-sewn, hand stitched bonnet would be great for a little child or even a doll. I believe the material is cotton, but it has sort of a polished cotton finish to it, while not really shiny either. You can see the weave in the fabric, much like that of linen. It is tan on the outside, and fully lined with black on the inside, also much like the Shaker or Amish made pieces. It has all been basted and stitched, and there are both red and white threads used in the stitching. I love the gathering around the back side of the bonnet, and it's just made so nicely, while at the same time, has a bit of a primitive look for sure! There are two string ties. The condition is really quite good, although I do find 2-3 pin size holes in the fabric. I believe this is probably an antique one, although I could not say whether it truly is within the 100 year old guidelines. It's adorable, and just waiting for you to hang as a display, or dress your little doll (or baby doll) in it!
