As it says on the cover, this is "The only cookbook that explains how to create authentic French dishes in American kitchens with American foods." The illustrations are drawing by Sidonie Coryn, and the color picture on the jacket is by gigot roti. I love the Fleur de Lis allover design both on the dust jacket and the hardback cover. The spine is excellent too!

I am most familiar, as I believe many of you are as well, with Julia Child, who studied at Paris's famous Cordon Bleu. For years, Mrs. Child's program "The French Chef" was broadcast on educational television networks across the country. In 1968 the recipes demonstrated on these programs, many of which were drawn from this book, were published as The French Chef Cookbook."
If you love Vintage Quality Cookbooks that are practical and ready to use, or if you just like to look at them or use them to decorate with in your retro kitchen, you certainly will want to add this one to your collection. It is in excellent condition, with the Hardback front and back clean and intact mostly due to the dust cover that has remained for all these years! The dust jacket has a little wear as you can see, but it still is a wonderful collector's item for all you Master Chefs! You won't be disappointed to add this Cook book with over 700 pages of recipes, index, and illustrations!
If you want it quickly, I can mail it Priority, but it is heavy, weighing over 3 pounds even before carefully packing so that it arrives in excellent condition as sent! If you aren't in a hurry, just choose Media Mail in the US, but with holiday mailing, it may take longer than usual. Still, it will be worth your wait!!
