SALE Here is the third piece of early Redware pottery I am listing from an Indiana estate, and it's a beautiful plate with mustard yellow slip design decoration and ridged, coggled edges. The slip design is one that would almost remind you of 3 bony fingers, almost like a little child would hold up to show his/her age.

Measuring app. 7 3/4" across, this could have been a luncheon plate, although I know they used the redware for baking as well. It's about 1 1/2" tall, so the shape is like a very shallow bowl. I love the edges, almost as if they were "crimped" like you might do to bake a pie.

After looking at many pieces of Antique Redware at the Nashville Antique shows last week, with all kinds of asking prices and condition, I would have to say this one is actually is quite good condition. There is crazing and you can see where the glaze has worn down to the clay in 2-3 places on the yellow slipware design, as well as a few places on the back side, but these appear to be so common to much of the 19th Century Redware. This is very likely from PA, but I know part of the collection was purchased through Garth's in Louisville, KY. I believe you would love to add this to your collection of Early Redware.

I have listed another larger slip decorated plate or bowl, plus a pitcher with Black Manganese design/colors from this same collection, and will finish with a piece that is like a storage or canning jar, or it might be used as a vase or something else you choose. These are all consignment pieces, so even dealer discounts will have to be approved by the owners. If you have any interest in buying all as one lot, please just ask, and I can entertain offers with their approval.

I am always happy to combine purchases to save you on shipping, so please be sure to let me know if you are interested in other pieces from my shop. Also, please be sure to check back for the additional listings of the Redware from this estate.

Thanks so much for shopping with me, and God Bless YoU! May we honor Him in all we say and do!

***There is no insurance or tracking for First Class International packages, so please note that even though I will pack very carefully, I cannot be responsible for the package once it leaves my hands. Also, due to Non-delivery, etc., I no longer ship to Thailand or Russia.
