CHRISTMAS SALE I am a sucker for old vintage tins, so when I saw this adorable little girl with curls like Shirley Temple in her red vest and plaid skirt, I knew I had to have this one. This great tin was Made in England by Edward Sharp & Sons LTD. Of Maidstone, Kent. At leas that's what I think the last two words say.
This could have been a candy tin or a biscuit tin; I'm guessing it was probably for candy, maybe toffee or taffy! It's a good size, app. 10" long x 7" wide by app. 2 1/2" high. The top is hard to get on and off, but I would probably just have it out for display anyway. I have taken pictures of every side to show you the wear to the tin. Even with some wear, places where the shiny tin has worn off and there is now black, and a few places that are bent, it's still a marvelous tin!
The little girl in red has big brown eyes and beautiful features, and she has a book on the floor next to her. If you look in the background, you will see an old antique fireplace bellows too. This is just a wonderful tin to add to your collection. I don't think you will be disappointed.
