Just in time for KY Derby SALE Look at this wonderful G. Howard Hodge Original Lady's dressy Black Derby Style Hat with a wide satin ribbon and exquisite black netting all the way around. This hat comes from the living estate of a Western KY lady who had some marvelous designer fashions in the 1940's and 50's, and she still had these neatly packed away in the boxes she purchased them in. There is nothing special about the hat boxes, so unless you specifically ask for the box, they will be carefully wrapped and shipped in a different box rather than having to find a large box that the original would fit in and costing more for shipping.
This brim is a bit wider in the front than the back, and the hat appears to be in immaculate condition. The only thing I see at all to be mentioned is that on one side, the wide satin bow needs to be either pressed down, or perhaps just pinned down for awhile so that it will lay flat. The hat itself is very tightly woven, and again, in excellent condition! The tag reads "G. Howard Hodge Original Model New York." It measures 21" inside, and the outside is app. 10 1/8" from front to back and 9 3/4" from side to side. A lady wearing this designer hat would remind me of a gentleman in a tuxedo. It's so dressy elegant looking, although very simply a black derby hat adorned with a very wide black satin ribbon and some very pretty netting.
This is a wonderful millinery item to add to your vintage fashion wardrobe. It's not often I find these extra special designer hats, but there are a few more from this same collection, so please check back.

***International buyers, there is no tracking nor insurance available with First Class International shipping, so please understand that once the package leaves my hands, I have no control on how it travels, or how long it takes to get to your country. I will pack carefully for travel, but that's the best I can do once it is shipped. I have never had any trouble with a buyer receiving the item until this summer, and that was in Thailand. I apologize, but I also am unable to ship to Russia.***
