SALE PRICE SLASHED Take a look at this very cool French Magazine purse from the 1970's, "El'egance Boutique." At the bottom it reads, "100 nouvelles mani`eres de shabiller en 'ete' '76...Tout en couleurs vives auhaut en bas des prix." The girl on the cover is dressed in very nautical attire.
I never had one of these, but a friend of mine who is a few years older than I, remembered them right away when she saw this one. I asked a friend to bid sight unseen other than seeing the pictures beforehand of what was to be auctioned off close to my home. The person who did the bidding for me really thought it was a mazagine. There's a patent strip that wraps around and snaps to keep it closed securely.
I purchased 3 lucite purses from the same antique dealer who was selling all of her things at auction, and this is one of them. It isn't perfect, but with a little tiny bit of glue at two corners, and one little place that is torn but could be repaired so that you probably would never see it, you would love carrying this one or offering it in your vintage store. My price is discounted to reflect the minor flaws.
Inside the purse, the maker's name is JANDA, and it says Pat. Pending, Chicago. It is 12 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/4". This is still a great purse, if you love the 1970's fashion! You must add it to your collection of great plastics!
