SALE Take a look at this large and wonderful flower brooch with long narrow prong set lemon yellow navette cabochons and sparkling peridot rhinestones! The yellow petals I believe are lucite, or at least a very good faceted plastic, and the rhinestones have a yellow tint to them because of the surrounding stones. They are called dark peridot stones on page 178 in the book, BRILLIANT RHINESTONES: Vintage & Contemporary Jewelry from the Ronna Lee Collection, by Ronna Le Aikins. There's a large stone in the middle, surrounded by 8 petals, and then there are 8 more surrounding those. All are prong set except for the dimension around the large stone, and those appear to be just glued in.
The back and structure of this well made brooch remind me of Judy Lee or Beau Jewels, but it is unmarked. Often just the earrings were marked in the sets by these makers, so this could have a matching pair out there somewhere! However, just worn alone, this is a classy flower brooch! Aurora Borealis stones weren't used until 50's, so this dates sometime after then, but it's not a new one at all, and was found with lots of other vintage jewelry in a KY estate.
