SALE JEANNE VICTORIAN REVIVAL BROOCH MARCASITES, RHINESTONES, 1960'S! If I didn't know that this JEANNE jewelry from from the mid-century, probably the 1960's, I would think it was a very early brooch because of the Victorian Revival style. Oval in shape, and dimensional, the outside is lined with small smoky grey prong set rhinestones. Between those and the next layer of larger smoky grey rhinestones, there is beautiful filigree work. Next you can see 3 levels of beautiful marcasites, and finally, a framed black cabochon that looks like onyx, although it may be faux onyx.
This beautiful brooch is so well made, evident when you look at either the front or the back, where "JEANNE" is hallmarked in an oval cartouche. It measures 1 7/8" x 1 1/2", but it seems larger than that to me. This would be beautiful at the top of a high necked blouse, on the lapel of a dressy jacket or coat, your little black dress, or maybe even to dress up your jean jacket! This is just a great vintage brooch that has a very antiqued look to it! You won't be disappointed to add this one to your collection.
