Sale I loved the front of this wonderful postcard of St. John's Church Communion Silver, Brought to Virginia, 1619, and then when I read the back with such information from the very early 1900's loved it again!
Included in the picture is the Vestry Book, Beginning 1751, Hampton, VA, and it is inscribed "Elizabeth City Parish, 1751." You can see the silver cup for the wine for the Blood of Christ, and the trays for the Bread, the Body of Christ. There is a name in the left hand corner at the bottom that reads, "C. E. Cheyne.
On the back, there is a rather lengthy note for a postcard, mailed to Mrs. M. E.M. Glover of Paducah, KY. There were finance details in the correspondence about payments, deposits, etc, but I particularly loved the reference to "paying the water and phone bill out of $5 they would get from the sender." I have several things that must have belonged to the Glover family of Paducah, so if this is of interest, watch my shop for that name. I will be happy to send items together.
I am always happy to combine purchases to save you on shipping, so please be sure to let me know if you are interested in other items I have listed.
Thanks so much for shopping with me, and God Bless You! May we honor Him in all we say and do!
Something special you're looking for? Please ask, as I love the hunt!
