SALE Art Deco Micro Beads Purse Mother of Pearl/Abalone Shell Lucite Frame, Stunning Colors
Take a look at the stunning colors and design of this Micro Beaded Art Deco purse with a Mother of Pearl or Abalone Shell Lucite Frame, a KY Estate bag! So many of these purses have more subdued colors, but I love the bold and beautiful blues, reds, yellows, silvery grey, green, and black mix making this unique design. There are flowers, diamond shapes, and the red that encircles and loops around to the top almost look like a snake that has slithered from one end to the other! The frame is really something too, in that it looks like either a brownish/green Mother of Pearl or Abalone shell design, made of lucite, with the piece at the top that raises up to open and securely locks into place when you put it down. The handle is beaded the same bold royal or lapis blue color that matches the background of the purse. The beaded fringe at the bottom is looped, and as you can see, there are a couple of places where those beads are gone, but no big deal actually. If I were going to carry it, I would probably just remove the others, but you may actually be able to add some to complete the bare spots which really don't detract much, because the colors and designs which are mirrored on BOTH SIDES are so great!
The inside has a few places in the cloth that are torn most likely just from age or weight, but you could actually just catch those with some thread and pull them back together. I think it would be just pretty for display, but hey, it still also has lots of wear left in it if you choose to make it a part of your elegant vintage fashion! From top to bottom INCLUDING the handle and fringe, it is about 16" long. Just the BODY of the purse, not counting the handle or the fringe, it is 8 1/4" x 7 1/4".
This is from a Western KY estate where the lady who owns the purse has had to go to a nursing home, and the profits will help with her private pay to the nursing facility. In her day, I understand she was one of the best dressed ladies in town, and I have so much of her jewelry, silver flatware and other items to get listed, you may want to check back, as she had some elegant pieces! You won't be disappointed to own this beautiful handbag from the Art Deco era!
