Take a look at this adorable little Art Deco Tri-fold compact for rouge and powder, in silver and two shades of a green enameled design. The tag when I purchased it called the green design leaves, and I suppose it could be, but to me it just looks almost like two colors of green & black inside a diamond shape, with a silver lightning strike dividing the two colors. It's unique in the way it opens, as it has a little latch that unlocks and locks the top and bottom into place. When opened, the top lid opens to find very pink rouge, that hardly looks like it has been used, with the original puff. On the bottom, the puff covers a powder that has been used, but still has plenty left.
This is a tiny little compact, measuring only 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" closed. Although it looks like sterling, I cannot find any markings on it anywhere, so it may be silver plating, but then again, there is no tarnishing, so perhaps it is even chrome as might have been the case in the Art Deco era. It's just a beauty of a little vanity item that I think you will love too. I'm just noticing there is a slight denting in the top right hand corner, but otherwise condition is very good. It needs a little Goo-Gone on the back where the owner had a tag taped on it. You won't be disappointed to add this little compact to your collection.
