SALE SILVER TONGS SIMPLE BUT ELEGANT! I am unable to determine from the mark if these dainty sugar tongs are silverplate or sterling. I can distinguish two different anchor marks, as well as AA at the end, but can't make out what is in the middle. I found in British sterling, the anchor symbol is indicative of the British city of Birmingham. On the other hand, there is Anchor Silverplate Co. in Indiana and Minnesota that had multiple platings, but that anchor mark looks more decorated where these have just a simple anchor followed by some other markings.
Either way, these are just elegant, although simple in design. They remind me of a chicken foot at the ends, followed by an "x" just above the handle of what would look like two demitasse size forks. These have not been polished by me, as I just bought them at the Bardstown Antique show here in KY last weekend along with another pair of sugar tongs. I just thought they were great!
I am always happy to combine purchases to save you on shipping, so please be sure to let me know if you are interested in other items I have listed.
Thanks so much for shopping with me, and God Bless You! May we honor Him in all we say and do!
