I recently bought several very interesting old cabinet cards, group pictures and real photo postcards from a lady who does estate sales in Western KY, and I love this one with the baby in an oversized chair holding a U.S. Army cap. I am pretty sure that is where most of these are from, as some of the faces I recognize from others I have had. Some may be useful for genealogy, but all of them are darling!
Actually, I'm wondering if this one was made in the 1950's, because I have a photo of myself as a baby made in this same oversized chair, and I was born in 1952. This precious angel has on a sweet white dress with little white shoes, and the military hat in her lap is almost as big as she is! Actually, I suppose it could be a policeman's hat, but I believe that may be her daddy's Army hat, which is why I referred to her as Daddy's little girl. Her smile is contagious, and I can just imagine that her eyes sparkled with the smile!
This vintage photo comes in a booklet type cardboard frame, with a cutout that is oval on the top and straighter on the other 3 sides, and decorated on the white mat to show those lines. You will just love this little gal! Whether you are researching genealogy or just love old photos, you are going to want to add this one to your collection.
