Fabulous French sterling and guilloche enamel miniature mirror for a chatelaine. Beautifully enameled in blue and white guilloche enamel with embossed flowers and leaves. A gold scalloped design is painted on the white guilloche enamel on the back of the mirror and along the handle. The tiny, oval beveled mirror is in near perfect condition, with just a hint of silvering along the top edge. The mirror retains it's original ring to attach to a chatelaine. The mirror measures 3 1/4" in length. It is in wonderful condition with several tiny nicks in the enamel on the handle (which are magnified in the photos), but truly, this is a little treasure and you will be well pleased with it. Keep in mind how magnified details are in the photos, the nicks on the handle fade away while you should have no trouble noticing the floral embossed garland under the enamel work, fine quality craftsmanship to be sure. It's a rare tiny piece, this is a fabulous chatelaine hand mirror. There is a very hard to read silver mark incised on the tiny ring at the end of the handle, denoting sterling equivalent, we believe this piece to of French origin. Circa 1915.
