Huge and spectacular French tray, hand painted with white cherry blossoms and red ripe cherries against yellow and russet grounds. The artist has painted a very wide, extravagant heavy gold border with white and yellow cherry blossoms and black penwork leaves, and outlined the inner edge of the gold border in black penwork. The tray measures 13 1/2" in diameter and is in excellent condition with no damage or losses and no wear to the gold, there are a few scratches in one spot. The mark has been worn away, I believe it was simply marked France as you can see in the picture. Circa 1900.
